A vaccine passport is a certificate that shows the holder has been immunized against COVID-19. Initially they are being developed to restore free travel that has been restricted by Government restrictions implemented to control the spread of COVID-19. Either a paper document or digital in the form of a phone app, they could also be used to control access to businesses and government facilities. The EU aims to make a COVID passport available to its citizens by the first of July 2021. Quote "...the Commission first brought forward the proposal for the creation of a document which would enable those vaccinated to travel restriction-free throughout Europe in mid-March this year, in a bid to restore the freedom of travel for vaccinated persons, those who have recovered from the virus, and those who test negative, amid COVID-19."
Dr Fauci stated quote "I would support that if you want to get on a plane and travel with other people that you should be vaccinated," The Hill reported.
At the beginning of September, CCSDs website had 728 job openings posted following the announcement of a vaccine mandate.
The Japan Times reports that more th'an a dozen countries and regions have been added to a list of those recognizing Japan's vaccine passports in the past week, including Canada and France, exempting travelers from Japan from certain entry restrictions depending on the country.
Victoria, which is currently under draconian blockade restrictions with state capital Melbourne residents, who make up the vast majority of the state's population, living under a 9 PM to 5 AM curfew, can only leave their homes to work, buy food, or receive Covid vaccinations. State Premier Daniel Andrews has said quote There will be a vaccinated economy, and you can participate in it if you are vaccinated" Andrews said. "We will move to block people who are not vaccinated and could be vaccinated to protect the health care system." Andrews added "We are going to move to a situation where, to protect the health system, we are going to lock out people who are not vaccinated and can be".
The federal government will start issuing international COVID-19 vaccination certificates from October and is also in talks with other countries to work out which vaccines will be recognised in international travel bubble arrangements. Work is under way to enable people's vaccination status to be linked to their passport chips.
CNBC claims that a survey shows that 81.8% of Americans support the idea of vaccine passports, digital or physical proof of vaccination against Covid.
